The helicopter in the next scene looks a lot better on DC as well, though that may be because of the resolution. You can see way too many ugly, chunky pixels on the PS2! The DC's sharper, cleaner look is an improvement over those messy PS2 visuals. In addition, the PS2 textures look pretty ugly and a lot more pixelated than the DC textures those DC textures may be lower resolution, but the much less pixelated look is a big plus. The DC version may have slight edge aliasing, but you have to look very closely to see it, quite unlike the PS2. Here's the bit in the video where I really noticed how bad the PS2 version looks: The jaggies in this shot (paused) are dramatically worse than on the DC, and I doubt that just the lower resolution fully explains that. While the lower resolution is certainly a factor, it's nowhere near enough to explain the whole difference hasn't it always been remarked on that the PS2, while it has some visual strengths (high polygon counts, good particle effects), the bad image quality holds it back? Progressive scan does reduce the number of jaggies you see in PS2 games, though most PS2 games don't support it, but as you see here they're still a big problem.
